Theo attended The Movement Centre for an assessment after being self-referred by his parents. Theo has a diagnosis of Spina Bifida and this has affected his movement development. After being assessed, Theo was found to have some difficulty with his trunk control. Theo was supplied with a standing frame to work on his trunk control to help with his prop sitting abilities, rolling and 4 point.

Theo took the frame home with a programme to follow, Theo was encouraged to spend up to 30 minutes daily in his frame doing hands free reaching activities
By his first review, his parents noticed that he was weight bearing more in prop sitting and improved floor mobility; rolling onto tummy and back again. The support on the frame was lowered due to Theo’s improved control.
At his next review, Theo was now doing lots more rolling, propping himself on his side, maintaining balance for longer period of time in sitting and 4 point position. The support on the frame was lowered again to accommodate Theo’s increased control.
Fantastic work so far Theo! We are looking forward to see what else you can achieve during your course of therapy.
